This piece is meant to celebrate our bacne even though many continue to diminish it. I see it as something that should be appreciated as it's a piece of love from our bodies to us even if it is in oil and sweat trapped, it's a story of what once was or what is. Whether it developed from a sweaty backpack or anything else, it's a part of your life that's there.

The piece functions as my perception on interaction. The design features a somewhat familiar blend of menus, street signs, city roads and digital layouts which create a very alien result. The acrylic design represents a heart of the piece in a way how desktop or smartphone wallpapers have a personal connection with users. "Forever" is a mythical look at navigation and communication.

This piece is meant to appreciate my cousin and cherish the bond we have. I put a lot of emphasis on our culture & certain aspects of it because it means a lot to her and even the room painted is a sneak peak into our grandparents shop in Mexico. I love my family a lot and this felt like a coming of age piece that I'd hope for others to be able to feel and relate to as we grow older and parts of our childhoods reduce. But memories like that of running through a room at someone's birthday party with the cousin you've learned to see as a sibling will never lose its touch.

Whiplash was created as a part of my AP portfolio. It features a moshpit, focusing on 2 main people in the middle. For my portfolio, I wanted to explore music and how it can create a community for people to have shared experiences. In this specific piece however, I wanted to see how I could capture movement in a still piece. Using oil paint helped me a lot, since it's easier to push the colors around to illustrate the direction and movement of clothing, hair, jewelry, etc.
